The idiots in the government upset over $0.95

$.95 cents! That is it, the world is ending over $.95 cents.

Our government spends $3,700 billion per year and they are looking to cut $25 billion of it, potentially up to $85 billion over the rest of the year at the top end. That is .007 percent or less than 1 percent.  So, let’s equate that to the average family making $50,000 per year.  The cuts that are going to happen are the same as that family cutting $350 for the entire year, or about $.95 cents per day.  Now, let me ask you,  if this family had to cut $.95 cents per day, do you think that their whole world would end and they would cease to exist?

Of course not!  Then why in the living hell do you believe Barack Obama and the Democrats when they tell you the whole world is going to end over $.95 cents?

Oh and by the way, it’s not even $.95 cents.  There is actually nothing being cut out of the budget.  In fact, even with the “end of the world” sequestration, our government will spend more money than they did last year. How is this possible? It is called “baseline budgeting.”  This is the process by which the government, every year, just automatically increases their budget, typically by about 7 percent.  So if they spent $1.00 last year that means that they will automatically spend $1.07 this year.  So guess, what?  All it means is they are going to spend between $1.06 and $1.07 this year and not the full $1.07.

Let’s not forget that this whole thing was Obama and the Democrats idea in the first place.  The Democrats do control 67 percent of the  government (counting Congress and the presidency), and voted it in.  Now, when they are called on it, they are getting very defensive, even to the press.  Just this week, Bob Woodward called the White House to tell them he would be asking the President about this.  After all, Obama did sign the bill for “sequestration” into law.  An aide at the White House screamed at Woodward and warned him not to do so.

At the top end if all cuts went through, the max in cuts would be $85 billion.  By the way, the FAA’s annual budget for  “consultants” is higher than that.  So, the world is ending over this miniscule “rounding error,” but nobody is saying anything about the $716 billion that Obama just took from Medicare to help backfill Obamacare.  Can anyone explain why there is not a big uproar over that?

So, why is this a big deal and why are the Democrats scared to death of this?  It’s simple: the Democrats control their voting blocs with money.  They handout welfare, Obama phones, food stamps, etc.  When money is taken from them, even if it is a penny, they freak out because it is taking away their power to control people and keep them dependent.

More importantly, they are very scared because once the public watches the “sequester” go through and sees that it does not have all the impacts that Obama and the Democrats say it will, except for the blatant ones that they are actually forcing to happen, like letting 300 criminals go this week. Then the public will have no problem with cuts and will start to buy into cutting the size of government.

free idiot testAnd when that happens, then it can spell the end for the Democrat party.  When Democrat voters figure out that they do need Democrats and can thrive on their own.

America needs this to happen or we will go bankrupt.  I know that I will hear from the one person who is either being furloughed or losing their job because of this and that no doubt hurts.  But, please take the opportunity to find a position in the private sector as there is more security there than government.

The government can and will take something away as fast as they give it out , and  with the fiscal path we are on, a lot of government workers and retirees are going to be severely disappointed in the years to come.  America, focus on the private sector and put your faith there…not in a bunch of idiots!

    Yep. That would be me.

  2. Dave, great explanation of what the cuts mean in real dollars. If you listen to Obama, Napolitano and Waters you’d think we’re all gonna die.

It is vital that speakers of truth stop calling the sequester a “cut” and instead call it a limit on the increase in spending. It is also necessary for conservatives to offer specific examples of programs that are a waste of taxpayer dollars and cite them as examples of programs that not only need less money this year but should be eliminated entirely. Every day the Republicans should cite a “mechanical squirrel” example to show that the 85 billion decrease in the proposed increase need not cost anyone a job. And every time a job is cut, Republicans need to show specific examples of why Democrats are hurting people for political gain.

  4. Mr. davemlukas: I think you can distort the credibility of all of us who are enflamed by the idiocy of the Sequester Situation. 25 parts of 3500 is not .007%, it is 0.7%. I admit this may be nit-picking, but your well stated strong argument would be better served by correct arithmetic. We would certainly complain if arguments were placed against us using incorrect facts.

  5. too bad their credit card can’t be taken away until they pay (instead of us) it off, you know what happens when children have access to someone else’s credit card, they spend like crazy and over pay for stuff and they don’t have to pay the bills. shameful.

Bob Woodward accurately called Barack Obama out for being untruthful about the budget sequester. More recently,Woodward has stated that the Benghazi scandal is “troubling”
