Will drones be used to kill alleged cop-killer Christopher Dorner?

UPDATE: The LAPD has now labeled Dorner a “domestic terrorist. Remember that Obama and his spokespeople have said that drones may be used to kill Americans who are terrorists oversees. Is this label the permission the LAPD needs in order to use a drone to take out Dorner? We simply ask the question.

As the search for Christopher Dorner continues, law enforcement has disclosed that they are using drones to chase him. Express, a British online outlet, explains:

Yesterday, as a task force of 125 officers, some riding Snowcats in the rugged terrain, continued their search, it was revealed that Dorner has become the first human target for remotely-controlled airborne drones on US soil.

A senior police source said: “The thermal imaging cameras the drones use may be our only hope of finding him. On the ground, it’s like looking for a needle in a haystack.”

Asked directly if drones have already been deployed, Riverside Police Chief Sergio Diaz, who is jointly leading the task force, said: “We are using all the tools at our disposal.”

The use of drones was later confirmed by Customs and Border Patrol spokesman Ralph DeSio, who revealed agents have been prepared for Dorner to make a dash for the Mexican border since his rampage began.

He said: “This agency has been at the forefront of domestic use of drones by law enforcement. That’s all I can say at the moment.”

So the next question is… Will the police use the drone to kill Dorner if he is spotted? It’s a question worth asking. What is the official policy on this now that Obama has claimed executive powers in this arena?

  1. I am not OK with this! Under the law, he is still has a right to due process. I hope this is not true or this opens a dangerous path!!!!

  2. abaworlock says:

That should work well, being that the police have already mistakenly shot up two cars and shot two innocent people.

  3. IF LA uses the drones to kill Dorner then no political party will back them. I have backed the election of Obama for the past two elections. But if that is the way they they take him out then I will switch to the other side in a heart beat.

  4. Some of you people need to learn how to READ!!!! It’s says they are using a drone (which is a flying remote-controlled camera) to find him! It says NOTHING about executing him. Learn reading comprehension people!!!! Guess what… It’s the same as police cameras on light poles except these can be maneuvered through air to find this guy faster!!!

“The thermal imaging cameras the drones use may be our only hope of finding him.

    • abaworlock says:

Your correct. But being that the police want him dead so bad that they are blindly shooting at anything and anyone that remotely looks like him. And as Police Chief Sergio Diaz said“We are using all the tools at our disposal.” Its easy to see why one would jump to that conclusion, witch may turn out to be correct.

    • Denise, it seems YOU need to learn to read, friend. A question mark “?” means we are asking the question for consideration. No where do we state it. Are we not allowed to ponder anymore?

  5. Quite correct, the article says they are searching for him with the drones. That is a no brainer considering the difference in tempeture. Unfortunately killing him is also as easy step. The military equate the ease and safety of doing so well above any other consideration. If they find him up in the boonies I would not be surprised if that was the decision. If he was located in a populate area with any chance of collateral damage then no, It would be the personal touch of reaching out to him, lethally.
