DESPICABLE: Letter to editor shows Democrat’s ignorance, hatred for Constitution

This letter to the editor was posted on Jan. 29, 2013 and printed in the Carteret County News-Times. We have bolded a few lines of the letter, showing this person’s hatred for the Constitution and ignorance of the facts — particularly regarding Chicago being safe and the phrase, “natural born citizen.” While this person will be called a “low information voter,” I beg to differ — he (or she) is very well-educated, just with the lies and misinformation that the left has been drilling in to him.

Our only hope can be that this letter was sent in by someone facetiously trying to make Democrats look bad. H/T to our contributor, Rich Baris, for forwarding this along to us. This letter has gone viral through several outlets, and we hope that you will take a moment to share it, as well. Even if it was sent in as a stunt, the sad part is that there are people out there who agree with its contents. Since the Democrats like to put Republicans on the spot with crazy abortion questions and other targeted questions, perhaps the contents of this letter should be used to ask Democrats similarly poignant questions in the next general election debates.

Republicans and “so-called” conservatives are at it again. They are claiming that the Constitution gives people the right to have guns without the permission of the government. If that were true, then how could New York and Chicago have laws against it?

We Democrats are sick and tired of Republicans constantly using the Constitution to cover up their true plans, which are to make us all afraid of everyone else. Our great president came from a civilized part of the country where there is strict gun control, and he is only trying to bring the benefits of that more modern way of living to the rest of us. I don’t know the exact statistics, but I’m quite certain that Chicago is a lot safer that Morehead City, when it comes to gun violence.

But do Republicans and conservatives listen to the voice of reason? No, of course not. All they want to do is whine and complain about how gun control and wealth redistribution violate the Constitution, as if the Constitution were all that great, anyway. There are a lot of things that need to be changed about the Constitution, I’d say, and President Obama needs to change it.

The Republicans are just trying to stand in the way, because the president is black. They even dared to question whether he was born in this country. I think all this demonstrates that the Constitution needs to be amended when it comes to the qualifications for being president. Right now, it says that a person has to be 35 years old and be a natural born citizen. Well, that is obviously unfair because there are a great many otherwise qualified people who cannot run for president because their mothers had to have a C-section.  But because the Constitution was written a hundred years ago, nobody even thought of the discrimination that would result from a doctor having to deliver a baby in this unnatural way. Now that we Democrats are in control of the government, that’s just one more thing we should change in our drive to make life fair.

Please withhold my name because I don’t want to get crank calls.

Are people really that brain washed? Was this just a prank letter to the Carteret County News-Times? After talking to Obama lovers I would have to say its dead on.

  2. Uhhh… I don’t really know the statistics but, I am going to open my mouth anyway… And, make a complete fool out of myself. LOL. Repeal 17th amendment please.

  3. this seems like a rant of a child not an intelligent adult with real sound reasoning. no wonder this country is in trouble. what part of inalienable rights don’t people understand? right to bears arms, not that I like guns very much, is about right of self defense, do you take the teeth away from a tiger because a few go rogue and kill people? do youtake the claws away from a grizzly bear because one out of a 1000 uses them to kill someone? do you cut off peoples arms off because a few use them to harm others because you might use them violently? I mean are people retarded or something? shouldn’t they be focused on real issues? this world is in deep doo doo, people are becoming homeless, poverty is on the rise in this country, wars are going on in other countries and people aer dying en mass (how come they don’t cry that the military should be disarmed too after all they are killing thousands of innocents) the cost of living isgoing through the roof and people are being charged with bogus crimes, having their properties stolen and all people in poisiton of authority can worry about is hand guns? really? then some wonder why I stop getting involved in politics and decided to advocate jehovahs kingdom and not any man rulership.

  4. I wonder if this Pinhead would have a problem if WE were to attack his/her First Amendment right to write display his/her complete and total ignorance.

  5. Obviously hyperbole by a reader familiar with the left’s mindset. The structure of this letter and the grammar indicates a sarcastic diatribe which the editor took to be from an actual Democrat.

  6. And of course, the letter writer is too afraid to attach his/her name to the statement because of “crank calls.” Yeah, right. I’m surprised this newspaper published the letter because many will not print anonymous letters – perhaps an inside job?

  7. Waste is a terrible thing to mind….

  8. Let’s not rush to judge all of our Democratic relatives, friends, neighbors, and co-workers by one letter sent to a small South Carolina newspaper. I would not want to be judged by a letter ranting about Democrats sent by a Republican. As stated above this very well may be a stunt or prank. Most reputable newspapers won’t even publish letters without the name of the writer, so I’m surprised this newspaper did. I don’t plan to send it on to others, since it’s authenticity and sincerity is in question. When I read letters like this in my local paper, I try to see it as one writer’s opinion who does not speak for all members of a political party or philosophy whether Democrat/Republican or liberal/conservative. There are un-informed and ill-informed people in both parties.
